WJMS Broadcast (morning announcements)
Daily at 8:45 a.m. Month-long rotations.
As part of the WJMS news team, students will have the opportunity to rotate through a variety of on- and off-camera roles as they broadcast our morning announcements! Students learn to work as a team; write scripts; run audio, video, graphics and the teleprompter; and anchor alongside our administrators! Future leadership positions are available to students who work at least one shift and are interested in continuing (and even improving!) the WJMS legacy.
Model United Nations
Mondays 4:05-5:20
Starting at the end of November
Model UN is an authentic simulation of the United Nations and its committees. In this club, students will role-play delegations to the United Nations and research current global issues. Students are challenged to employ critical and creative thinking strategies as well as diplomatic skills as they research their country's position on an issue, write resolutions and position papers, debate and caucus, and navigate the parliamentary procedures. We plan on participating in the Global Classrooms Model UN conference in DC in the Spring.
Math Club (partnership with the AHS Math Honor Society)
Thursdays 4:05 - 5:30
Starting October 3, 2019!
